My child is entitled to free transport, why do I need to have a photo?

The Councils policy is now to include a photo on the travel pass for the following reasons:

- To stop fraud.
- To prevent illegal duplication of the passes.
- To increase the likelihood of a lost pass being handed in.
- To improve safety on transport.

My child is entitled to free transport, will I still have to pay for the photograph?

Yes

I am on a low income, can I claim back the cost of the photo?

I receive discretionary transport and exemption from the charge: will I still have to pay for the photograph?

Yes

I receive discretionary transport, can I claim back the cost of the photo?

No

I receive discretionary Post 16 transport and EMA, can I claim back the cost of a photo?

No

I haven't sent the photo by the due date, what will happen?

A pass will not be printed for the beginning of term, however a temporary pass may be sent to cover the period in the mean time.
