Roadworks: Woods Lane (A1152), Melton (Stage 2)

From Monday 8 January until Friday 13 April 2018 (estimated), there will be a closure on Woods Lane (A1152), Melton

 

The following stop(s) will be affected:

Service 64/65

  • Woodbridge, Woods Lane, opp/adj Hall Farm Road (limited services)
  • Woodbridge, Bredfield Road, opp/adj Bury Hill (limited services)
  • Woodbridge, Bredfield Road, opp/adj Warwick Avenue (limited services)
  • Woodbridge, Pytches Road, opp/adj Grant Rise (limited services)
  • Woodbridge, Pytches Road, opp/adj The Grove (limited services)

Duration of closure:

  • Monday 8 January until Friday 13 April 2018 (estimated)

Reason: 

  • Infrastructure improvements for new housing development

Bus service(s) affected: 

  • First in Norfolk and Suffolk service 64/65

Alternative arrangements: 

Limited journeys will be able to serve Woods Lane, Melton.

Local bus services

Service 64/65 (First Eastern Counties) - directly affected by road closure

  • During the closure, MOST journeys will operate via an anti-clockwise loop around Pytches Road, Melton Grange Road, Saxon Way, Bury Hill, Bredfield Road and back to Pytches Road.

Some weekday journeys, that are operated with double decker vehicles won't be able to use the diversion route owing to low trees. All journeys on Saturdays and Sundays will operate via the diversion route.

The times at Warwick Avenue for these journeys are:

  • Towards Aldeburgh @ 08.03, 14.41 & 18.09.
  • Towards Ipswich @ 07.14, 09.09, 10.19 & 16.29. 

There will also be 3 temporary stops along the diversion route to help passengers

  • Melton Grange Rd at Wilkinson Way
  • Melton Grange Road at Grange Court
  • Saxon Way near Norman Drive

 


 

School bus services

Due to anticipated congestion and potential disruption to the road network during this closure we have, in consultation with affected schools made the following adjustments to bus timetables. These will be monitored and reviewed, further adjustments will be made as required to ensure that there is minimum disruption to the school day.


FARLINGAYE HIGH SCHOOL
The following school journeys are affected and for morning journeys to school they will all operate 5 minutes earlier than usual from each point along the route.

In the afternoon, all journeys will depart from the school at their usual time but will arrive at drop off points up to 5 minutes later than usual.
School route WE914 (Iken - Sudbourne - Orford - Butley - Farlingaye High School) is also affected and will operate a different route during the closure. All passengers will be advised of the new timetable which can be downloaded here: WE914 (PDF 179KB).


HOLLESLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL / EYKE PRIMARY SCHOOL
All morning journeys to these schools will operate 5 minutes earlier than usual.
All afternoon journeys will be unaffected.
